If you are looking to work for the Essex Group/Summit financial, I would think twice about accepting a position with them.. and def don't accept a position with them if you are currently employed. There is no job security at the Essex Group.

Be Warned -- Don't get screwed over, too.

... Your money is in their hands.

I would think twice about working for this company. I wouldn't really trust Nick or Brian -- these people are liar's and cheaters and they don't give a crap about their employees. They don't pay too well either. There are other financial companies out there that pay much more... and treat their employees better.

I had a friend who was looking for a new job, got an offer and started working for the Essex Group at Summit Financial. After 3 interviews, she was offered the job and, but was actually offered quite a bit less than she was initially told. (that should have been her first Red Flag) It was still more $$$ and she thought it was a good company, so she left her old company (after working there 3 years) and started working at the Essex Group.

Thankfully, just a month later she got a similar job (making much more $$$), but the Essex Group really screwed her over. Why hire someone, go through the whole month long hiring process, entice them to leave a good job with job security, just to let someone go 3 weeks later. Obviously, she is a good employee to get another job just a few weeks later.

A few weeks after starting her job, she was let go. She was given absolutely no reason why and was given zero warning. They never said anything negative about the quality of her work and, but come to think of it she was never really given much training either (which should have been another Red Flag).

When she was let go, the Essex Group stated that they will pay her unemployment. Ok, she was fired, but at least she can collect while looking for a new job, right? WRONG!!! After filing for unemployment she was denied and UI said that she wasn't working for the Essex Group long enough. The Essex Group said sorry, there is nothing we can do and she was out of luck. I am assuming that the Essex Group knew they wouldn't have to pay.
